Hello!
I'm looking to get another credit card for everyday purchases. I've had the Discover It for almost 3 years, but I'm interested in pairing that with a flat 2% cash back card. That way, the Discover card could just be used for the quarterly spend category purchases, and I could maximize my cash back on other purchases all while building my credit. Any suggestions? Thanks!
- Current cards:
- Discover It, $4800 limit, August 2023
- FICO Score: 751
- Oldest account age: 2 years 9 months
- Chase 5/24 status: 0/24
- Income: e.g. $51,000
- Average monthly spend and categories:
- dining $80
- groceries: $300
- gas: $100
- merchandise: $200
- other: $30 (subscriptions)
- Open to Business Cards: No
- What's the purpose of your next card? Building credit & Cash back
- Do you have any cards you've been looking at? 2% Cash back Cards
- Are you OK with category spending or do you want a general spending card? I would prefer general spending as I already have the Discover it

Take a look at the WF Active Cash and the Citi DoubleCash to see which one seems more appealing. I’d also look at the other cards each bank offers to see what might be worth going for in the future.
WF Active Cash + Autograph is a really good two card duo with no AF.
Same is true with the Citi DoubleCash and CustomCash.
Imo if you can get it the Robinhood card is the best cash back card on the market.
Where do you go grocery shopping and what are your subscriptions?
