I randomly remembered that there were a lot of advertisements for partial investments in art and paintings from around Covid time (I'm not including the name so I don't violate any rules). I am wondering if any of you invested in these and what the returns have been (if any?) It seemed kind of weird and scammy at the time to me, but that was a golden age of weird investment vehicles.

How did your Art investments go?

Art around Covid? Do you mean crypto NFTs? If so, they’re worth about nothing now. 😂

Probably referring to Masterworks? I thought about investing; even hopped on a call with a sales rep. Ultimately decided against it because I’m uncultured swine that knows nothing about art. 😬

    3. I signed up to masterworks. Figured out fairly quickly it was an awful investment plan and forgot about it before ever putting any money in to it.

    4. I threw a little bit into two paintings through Masterworks a few years back. I’m up maybe 10-15%. Obviously not great but it’s not even 1% of my portfolio so it’s kinda whatever

    5. Do you mean those Trump NFTs
showing Donald as things like a superhero, cowboy, astronaut, race car driver, golfer, or boxer?

On average, a typical/common official Trump NFT today is worth around $30–$70 depending on the series and current hype cycle.

They had a $99 mint price.

I threw some money into masterworks several years ago and it’s still tied up. It’s a good thing I don’t need the liquidity, because the time horizon for holding the art pieces is definitely longer than advertised.

I’m up a little and honestly I enjoyed learning about art through investing. However, if I had invested that cash in the S&P I would have far superior gains than what I got from the art investment
