- What's the purpose of your next card? I would like a card that will maximize points/cash back on everyday things like groceries.
- Do you have any cards you've been looking at? I have been looking at a Amex Gold or Amex Blue cash.
- Are you OK with category spending or do you want a general spending card? Yes I would like category spending since my current card is a good catch all with 2% cash back on every purchase.
What cards should I look into to maximize earnings?

With that grocery spend you’d be leaving money on table not getting a dedicated grocery card – the Blue Cash Preferred gives 6% back in groceries up to $6k yearly which would cover your $800/month easily.
Capital One Savor Rewards gives 3% on dining and groceries, which cover your biggest monthly expenses. Also covers streaming services and entertainment.
Since you’ve been looking at Amex, consider the Blue Cash Preferred too—6% on groceries, 3% on gas and transit. Your grocery expenses are much higher so the 6% will put in the work.
AAA Daily Advantage for 5% on all that groceries spending. The AmEx Blue Cash cards both have caps on their groceries category that can only handle $500/mo average before dropping down to 1%. AAA Daily will handle $10,000/year category spend, so up to $833/mo average category spend.
