Long story short I was collecting my sister from a job interview today and was very tired from college/work etc and just wanted to get home asap. I ran a stop sign I didn’t see and a woman ended up going into the side of me. Not too much damage to my car but her front bumper is pretty fucked but she wasn’t going at a speed where there would be internal damage. We exchanged insurance info and all that but this is the first collision I’ve been in and was wondering would it be better to just pay for her damage myself and not get insurance company involved.
    Would appreciate any advice🙏

Always go through insurance. Do you have pictures of your damage? What state are you in?

Word vs. word. If she hit you, you were there to be seen. Take that and run with it.

If the outside of her car is visually damaged and needs any replacing, there is a substantial chance something inside needs to be replaced. I don’t think she’ll let you repair her car based on your estimates so she will probably go to a shop. By all means if the damage is little and she agrees then keep the claim off both of you. When things are damaged to the point of needing to be replaced then injury is a bigger concern. Which you can’t pay for oop probably. So have her get an estimate and see if she’s a a levelheaded person first
