This is the second time we've scrambled to get our home ready for a showing only to be completely ghosted (a third time the realtor and their clients showed up with less than 10 minutes left in the booking window). We work from home and have pets, so it takes effort to clean and stage and then leave for the requested time slot, only for you to never show up and send no message or cancelation notices. On top of that, during the work week, we can only accept bookings after 6pm, so we dont have time to cook and end up spending money on crappy fast food. It's absolutely infuriating. /end rant
Realtors who no-show for booked viewings, why are you the way that you are?

If you FSBO you will eliminate this and just be at the whim of the lookie loos that contact you. win/win?
Chalk it up to curb appeal? Or neighborhood.
Only after 6pm and you don’t know why people are canceling? You work from home so it takes effort? Yeah, you’re selling your home, Its an effort.
It is a Buyers market so the more restrictions you give for showings will turn a Buyer off immediately. Start having open houses on Sat and Sundays. If you work from home there is no excuse not to be able to show at anytime durning the day. Keep the home clean and “staged” whatever that means at all times. Get serious and your agent will see you’re serious and low and behold the cancellations will stop. GL.
Realtors bring your customers.
Sometimes realtors want to show your house but the customer doesn’t want to see it because they are tired, or don’t like your bright, or your mailbox.
Selling your house is a job.
Realtor here. That sucks, is a huge pain, and i’m sorry you are experiencing that. Its rude and inconsiderate of the brokers lining up those showings to not communicate. Hard Stop.
That said, I work with buyers. They too, as you do, have lives, schedules, limitations. Sometimes we have to pack many showings in the same day, and you never know how much time you may spend at any one home. If we come across the wrong home, we may be there for 10 minutes and move on. A home they really like we may spend an hour. Its tricky to line up the schedules perfectly.
It is possible the buyers and brokers are just being inconsiderate, but more likely they are doing their best in an imperfect system.
Having a home on the market requires some inconvenience to you as the homeowner.
Maybe push for your listing agent to host a few weekend open houses to cater to buyers and give you more flexibility.
