Steve Ballmer Explains The Cost of Oil
Why do geopolitical tensions with Iran have such a large impact on how much everyday Americans pay for gas at the pump? And why are we seeing oil prices rise when the US is such a large producer of oil? Oil is a global market, so if supply is threatened anywhere, prices can rise everywhere— including at your local gas station.
On the new episode of Just the Facts, Steve Ballmer explains what we’re really talking about when we talk about “oil prices,” how oil prices are set, and why tensions in the Strait of Hormuz are impacting gas prices here at home.

Good job you big galoot
Seattle Sonics.
This is a good solid explanation of the oil market. 👍👍 NOW, if we could just figure out HOW it is CURRENTLY not happening. Oil inventories have and are going down, yet so is the price, making shortages a likely problem in the future.
@MrGlobalYouTube
When i was a practicing CPA i audited oil companies. One always said tbe cost of to middle eastern countries was close to nothing. True also in west Texas. Hole in the ground and a drill and the money rolls in. But as Steve said, not all oil is the same. Oil frm Canada is dirty and can't be refined there. So they export oil and import gas. Crazy,
A very succinct and thorough explanation.
next explanation … Kawhi's marketing contract
This info doesn’t actually help anything at all, Steve. Why don’t you explain how none of the costs of living will ever affect you personally ever again.

Can you explain shell companies next like when you want to avoid a salary cap
Oil independence is a fairytale because Republicans made it an impossibility. Exporting US crude oil was banned from 1975 through 2015. Republicans controlled both houses and wouldn't pass the 2016 omnibus spending bill without lifting the oil export ban. Americans are paying more so that other countries can pay less.
