Looking to add a travel card to my current stack. I currently have Amex gold, navy federal cash rewards plus, citi double cash, Apple Card, and discover it. Im not sure if I should keep all of these open or not either, as some were used as balance transfers. My credit score sits at 780. In the next year I’ll probably plan to fly around 3-4 times tops with one being a honey moon. I have a few other bigger expenses on my horizon too. Curious as to which travel card may be best for me. I was leaning towards Sapphire Preferred, but do not want to apply without doing proper research.
EDIT: that score is a FICO score. My oldest card is the discover, and use my Apple Card as well as Amex gold the most.
Wanting to add a travel card to my line up.

You’re in too many ecosystems, stick to one or two that overlap each other with a lot of airline or hotel transfer partners. Amex Gold and C1 VX go together well and fit into the fact that you don’t travel much annually
Your setup need fine tuning first.. It’s a bit all over the place lol
You can keep em but you need to decide on a direction.. Easiest way to do that is uncovering how you want to travel and preferred hotel/flight partners..
Your current wallet is all over the place. Before you can pick a travel card you need to first figure out what your travel preferences are and HOW you want to travel. The best travel card for you is one that aligns with your spending and how you want to travel.
Are you simply looking to travel as cheaply as possible or do you want more luxury perks? What airline do you want to use? What hotel chains? Is airline/hotel status important to you? Is lounge access important to you? Do you prefer to book direct or go through travel portals? Are you familiar with transfer partners and how to use them? If so do you value domestic or international?
No one can tell you what the best card for you would be until you start to narrow down answers to the above questions.
Agree with other comments that your setup is a bit eclectic. Based off of your preferred airlines/travel style I would recommend either the platinum if you’re cool with the fee/coupon book or the VX.
Contrary to popular belief, closing revolving lines of credit isn’t as bad as others might have you think and could be worth the added simplicity. See this sub’s resources for more info.
