Quebec shouldn’t do it. It sucks for California, especially since they’re not directly responsible for the tariffs, but everyone needs to feel the results of our governments actions if only to make sure political action is taken when possible and a president can never do something like this again.
If the door is left open for abuse to happen in the future, then it will happen again.

Wine industry in California has depleted its ground water.
It’s not an industry worth saving.
Before wine the ground water was at 150 ft below ground, now it’s closer to a mile.

The Canadians have made it clear they are willing to move on from the trump administration, and that they will not make any concessions until the tarrifs are removed and the new bridge opened. The wine industry is going to have learn to do without access to the Canadian market. Everyone knows the clock is running out on the trump administration, nation states have the luxury of waiting to negotiate with the next administration. Until then its wine from nova Scotia.

California could ask the Canadian government to annex it. Then it would be Canadian wine on Canadian shelves.
