If the war continues to rage and oil prices start to climb, why wouldn't the Trump white house simply restrict American oil exports to keep domestic prices low during the midterms? At some point, intervening in the futures markets has got to get to the point of diminishing returns. I don't think anyone in their right mind believes that another "deal/MOU/whatever" is currently imminent. What are your all's thoughts?

What are the chances Trump will restrict American oil exports?

Because then Europe and japan would collapse and the global depression would also collapse America.

It wouldn’t make a difference. We’re already a net exporter of oil, meaning our need is already met relative to our refining capacity. If anything, keeping more oil stateside might make the gasoline crisis worse.

Honestly if we get to shortages I’d say pretty good

He seems to get off leveraging US capabilities to screw over others

      US stock market gonna pump

I’m not an expert, so if I’m wrong then I’d appreciate someone who knows what I’m on about correcting me.

Doesn’t this also cap how high futures can go? I read somewhere that the arbitrage between physical oil prices and paper oil is based on how much some US companies pay for oil. In which case wouldn’t an export cap reduce the prices for those companies and drag futures down with it?

he will restrict it so he can extort people who want to have access to it.

Yeah keep dreaming. This sub is full of oil to 200 clowns and mullahs winning the war morons
      Lol

    7. Wouldn’t that completely destroy alliances that are already stretched thin, like with Europe, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan? Europe would immediately go into a continent wide fuel crisis which would completely wreck it

    8. Want to know why our gasoline is up and oil prices aren’t that high?

All those tankers he talked about heading to the gulf of America are filling up on gasoline, diesel and jet fuel and sailing off. Stopping our exports of refined fuel would drastically help our prices. It just would crater South American Europe Asia.

How about we stop blowing up the Middle East as a solution?
