Hi everyone! Sorry if this topic has been discussed to death. I am looking to get a credit card that maximizes rewards while staying low effort. I work 60-80 hours a week and do not want to spend time thinking about how to get the best rewards. it seems like a cash back card would be a good option? I spend most of my money on gas, restaurants, gym membership, and sigh instacart grocery deliveries. Any cards you’d recommend?

I don’t like cash back. Is a $6 credit gonna make a big difference. I use United Chase. I fly twice a year. Always on points. Never pay for bags. I fly out of Newark. United controls Newark. The benefits pay the AF.
2% cashback is prolly the way to go. Points usage takes research to do effectively and is not universally applicable to all travel.
If you’re willing to go up to like 3-4 cards instead of one, you can prolly get close 3.5-4% cashback on almost everything by adding a cash+ and a grocery card and gas card such as AAA daily or amex BCP, and a dining card like altitude go.
I really like my American Express Blue Cash Everyday card. There is no annual fee, you earn 3% on gas, groceries, and online purchases (up to $6,000 per year) and 1% on everything else plus they have a 84$ Disney Plus credit, and the card gives you the ability to cover eligible items for up to $1,000 per incident (max. $50,000 per calendar year) if they are stolen or accidentally damaged within 90 days of purchase. Also, for places that don’t technically code for grocery stores you can order your things through the app and it qualifoes for 3% online purchases. If you buy things at hardware store then you can also order through their apps and get 3% back.
Start with the flat 2%-3% cards. Get the Fidelity 2% Cash Back card. No international transaction fees, Global Entry. Best all around, no frills and cash back deposits into your brokerage or cash management account.
If you want 3%, get on the waitlist with the Robinhood Gold Card. Requires you to have a Robinhood account and get on the waitlist. I recommend you stay ok Robinhood for free while you wait for the waitlist invite.
After that, you can get cute with the niche cards based on your biggest expenditures. What are your top 3 expenditures?
Wells auto and active cash would be a good duo for you
Your best option is the wells fargo autograph visa credit card 3% cashback on a lot of categories 😉 no annual fee and no foreign transaction fees
CSP isn’t usually recommended as a daily driver but I feel like it could be for you. 3x restaurants, 3x gas, 3x online groceries but 1x on everything else. Flexibility for cash back or travel. Given your busy schedule you could cash it out if you accumulate too many points and not enough time to travel. Otherwise a flat 2% would work.
It just depends on your spend. You’ll get a better return if you figure out your monthly spend in each category.
