Earn a total 1.00% interest rate reduction* on Direct Loans first disbursed on or after July 1, 2012, while they’re in an active repayment status between July 1, 2026, and June 30, 2028.
On July 1, 2028, the auto debit interest rate reduction will automatically change to the standard 0.25% while loans are in an active repayment status.

Log in to your Nelnet.studentaid.gov account by 11:59 p.m. (Eastern) on September 30, 2026, and select Manage Automatic Payments from the Payments menu to enroll.
