My husband and I are moving into an extended stay hotel today because of water damage in our home.
We have Mercury Insurance, and the mitigation company told us to expect 1–2 months, but they also made it sound like it could be longer.
For anyone who’s been through this:
How long were you out of your house?
Did your repairs take longer than expected?
If you had Mercury, how was your experience with the claims and reconstruction process?
I’m just trying to set realistic expectations and hear what others have experienced. Thanks!

One to two months for mitigation, or one to two months to from start to finish?
What actually happened at the house? Give us a brief on what got messed up, because there’s water damage, and then there’s water DAMAGE….
