I (29f) got into a semi truck accident a little over a year and a half ago on February 25, 2025. I was driving on the highway when a Mohawk semi truck merged into my lane in a construction zone going 70+ miles an hour with no shoulder on either side of us dragging me along a concrete barrier a few feet before releasing me and I spun out ending up facing oncoming traffic. He stopped the truck and didn’t bother helping me (other than saying u good?) as I was bleeding from my forehead. I was rushed to trauma where I sat 7-8 hours before being stitched up I have a 3 inch scar on the left side of my face from my eyebrow to my eyelid. And my left arm was pulled off the steering wheel when the airbag went off after the accident was over. I ended up contacting a lawyer and I’m now in the ending phase of my lawsuit. I’m just waiting on a few things to be finished before we can go into negotiations.

I have been seen by neurologist, therapist, ophthalmologist, a plastic surgeon, and a general practitioner assigned to my case. As well as had two brain, MRIs and an arm MRI on my left arm.
I also had to go through PT, not only for my back, but also for my left arm as my inner elbow took the blunt force of the airbag. I had to do some brain wave headband in order to see how well I can still focus with the impact that happened to my brain. I have some cognitive memory issues and a hard time keeping focus on things.

Also, during my accident, I ended up getting pregnant a few months later, and having a miscarriage that my therapist thinks was caused by stress due to the accident. As well as my marriage ended. 10 months ago. (Idk if that’s important)

I’m just wondering if anyone has gone through something similar and if you have, what did you ask for in negotiations or what did you get out of it? This is my first lawsuit and I don’t really know what to expect. All I know is that I don’t want to settle for less than I deserve. any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Ask your lawyer. This is what you’re paying them half of your settlement for.

No one here can even give you a guess. Your attorney knows your case, the venue, and anticipated considerations best. You need to ask them.
