People buy spec because they like the buildout and don’t want the decisions that it takes for custom. People also want EITHER the speed of move in ready OR the discount some spec’s get to move the last houses in the neighborhood / former models which have more wear and tear.
People buy custom who want to pick their own finishings, pick their lot, etc.
