I'm about to sound like conquest from invincible here so bear with me.
theirs been a lot of talk for the past year about the AI bubble and about an inevitable market crash. experts and seasoned investors will tell you how its gonna be terrible for the economy and how you'll stand to lose so much money because of it.
I will tell you no such thing.
the truth is, I WANT the market to crash, cause nothing will make me happier than seeing the market, dripping in red, and the opportunity to buy into the type of market dip we only see once in a decade. I don't care how much value my portfolio loses, I care about how much I could gain buying into the market at its lowest, at buying into companies at the same prices they were at decades before i was old enough to invest.
you may call me a mad man or a fool, but honestly, one thing people who invest don't wanna admit is that market crashes are necessary. market crashes are like wildfires, highly destructive and unpopular, but necessary for a healthy environment. in this case, market crashes are necessary for a healthy economy.
im only 24 with a 20k portfolio, a market crash now would benefit me greatly, lose a couple grand now earn back triple that when the market recovers and investing when everything is low

Get in line buddy
Not unpopular with people my age.
Many of my peers just want to buy a house and at some point start a family.
For most of them. Its groups of 4 apartment living and collectibles as investments lol
>im only 24 with a 20k portfolio
The market did crash 6 years ago, during Covid. Many of us went on buying sprees then. You’ve got plenty of time.
Not that unpopular an opinion. Usually either because people want a reset button so they can afford things again or because there’s really no way to fix our economy without it burning down first.
Not that I endorse either view, though I think there’s a lot of truth to the second, but still, not that unpopular.
Yeah let it snow I don’t care. Let’s get recked and fucked so that I can buy the shit loaded 🙂
Shut up, bitch.

You say this now except that when the actual crash happens and you keep catching the falling knife for months or sometimes years, you stop wanting to invest altogether as you get scared.
Talk is cheap. Investing into a prolongued bear market takes a lot of discipline.
Screw others, I want a benefit, is a common opinion.
The market crashing is great for you IF you can manage to keep your job… but it’s also generally not a very empathic take because it involves many people losing their retirement savings, countless lives ruined, etc. It’s easy for you to say that it’s great that you’d get to buy the dip, but most of your countrymen would probably suffer immensely.
You’re not alone my friend.
Buddy trying to get in?
I don’t care about you, only me
Stopped at “theirs been”
Timing the market.
The fact that you want there to be one is why you should be at least a little open to the idea that maybe there isn’t a bubble.
I can tell youre 24 cause you sound dumb
Aside from being able to invest a few thousand more at a discount, you likely will have no job as things outside the stock market suck really bad during a crash.
Unfortunately market makers don’t want to have new Warren Buffets buying nvda at $20 and riding it to $2k. That was a once in a lifetime golden opportunity, very likely never to happen again. What made Buffett only happens thru IPOs, and not thru investing. He saw the opportunity and seized it. They don’t want it happening x 4 billion people.
… and we will rise like a phoenix from the ashes. Amen. 🙏
There is a record amount of cash on the sidelines waiting to buy a dip alongside billions pouring into the market every week via workplace retirement plans.

Lol good luck with that
Here’s the thing. While it may be a buying opportunity, how do you know it’s not going to be a “lost decades” situation afterwards? There are points where Bonds outperformed stocks for decades.
A “V” shaped recovery is not a guarantee.
Covid did cause a crash and those of us who were DCA-ing or otherwise buying made out well – IF you were able to keep your job.
“Let the market crash” is fine until you get laid off due to the economy
I’ve been through three crashes. Dot.com, 2008, COVID. I was not able to time any. Maybe you would be better at it.
Agree 100%. It’s become a grotesque casino. Time for a reset.
A market crash doesn’t mean that your investments would necessarily be worth more in ten years than simply investing in a continuously growing market. Recovery usually takes time, often years. It doesn’t necessarily happen faster than typical market growth.
The only way I see a market wide crash is if AI turns out to be unmonetizable. That’s hard to imagine right now .
I do think some stocks are due for a major reset because sentiment is way overdone for their future prospects. I’m talking about stocks like Western Digital and Seagate.
