I'm in my mid-twenties and it seems like every other person I talk to my age repeats this verbatim whenever talking about the economy. With the cost of raising a child climbing to about 500k I've started leaning that direction unfortunately. Am I completely wrong to say that in the next 20-30 years having a child will basically be akin to owning a vacation home ( that is to say not realistic for the average middle class household)?
How likely is it that having children will become a "luxury for the rich" in the next 20 years?

It already is a luxury for the upper middle class. Its just that most people are not financially literate/responsible enough to realize this
The rich will have babies and so will the poor. The educated middle class will have less or none
Tbh, most of the rich people I know IRL have chosen not to have kids. The people I know who are struggling are the ones constantly having kids. I don’t think this will change anytime soon.
