Everywhere seems to project a 25bps hike. I use tradingeconomics.com/calendar a lot and even they are projecting a 25bps hike. I been shrugging off a lot of the news lately thinking they are exaggerated but seeing this feels legitimate. Are things actually getting bad enough to warrant a hike?
But at the same time its Kevin Warsh… and that truth social tweet last week of Trump borderline threatening Warsh to cut rates next week makes it feel legitimate that Trump believes there is a decent probability of Warsh hiking so he wants to apply pressure to get it off the table
all BS aside do u actually think a rate hike is coming next week?

A no rate hike will be worse for the market than a rate hike.
I feel like at this point, they pretty much have to. I don’t know if it’ll actually help, and they would argue the bond market is already hiking rates without them, but there’s just no real justification at this point.
And they need the bond market to believe they might actually get off their asses and do something in a crisis instead of just yap, because it feels like they’re losing control of the bond market. Can’t forget that.
