The numbers went up: 6,270 filings instead of 3,598, across 963 companies.
The picture is the same. Energy barely sponsors.
Chevron: 78 in four years. ExxonMobil: 73. EOG: 70. Tech filed over 70x of Energy sector. Amazon is roughly 5x the entire energy sector on its own.
What I'd missed: NAICS codes are self-reported per filing and often don't match what the company does. Halliburton filed 69 times under engineering services, Tenaris 73 under steel pipe manufacturing, neither showed up the first time. Also grouped subsidiaries under parents, since ExxonMobil files under seven entities and SLB under six.

Energy offshores rather than brings in visa. There’s an entire cottage industry in Bangalore with satellite engineering offices.
