I’m hoping to find other people who have gone through something similar and can share what they did, what worked, what didn’t, and whether there are any avenues I may have missed.

I attended BloomTech’s Data Science program and graduated on August 21, 2024. I financed the program through Ascent, and what I expected to be roughly a $15,000 obligation eventually became a much larger balance. At this point, I’m dealing with approximately $20,000–$25,000 in private student-loan debt, with payments that have been around $400–$600 per month.

My biggest issue is what happened with BloomTech’s Tuition Reimbursement/Refund Guarantee (TRG).

I spent considerable time completing the career-related requirements and documenting my efforts. I ultimately submitted my TRG materials on October 31, 2025.

On December 10, 2025, BloomTech denied the request, stating that the submission was outside their deadline. My understanding and experience with the process left me with concerns about the way the deadline, documentation requirements, and submission process were communicated.

Since then, I haven't just stopped at the initial denial. I've been trying to work through the available channels and document everything.

    So far I've:

    – Communicated with BloomTech about the TRG denial.

    – Gathered and preserved documentation of my job-search efforts.

    – Filed a complaint with the Montana Office of Consumer Protection.

    – Filed a complaint with the CFPB concerning the loan.

    – Filed a complaint with the California BPPE.

    – Looked into organizations that help students/borrowers with education-related disputes.

    – Continued researching whether there are legal or other legitimate avenues available.

The Montana complaint was closed without assistance and I was directed toward other potential avenues. The CFPB complaint resulted in a response from Ascent indicating that they considered the BloomTech TRG issue separate from their responsibility for the loan. I have also been pursuing the BPPE complaint and am continuing to see where that goes.

Meanwhile, the loan is still there.

That's the part that has been especially difficult. I completed the program, have continued working and trying to move forward professionally, and I'm still carrying a substantial private loan from an education program that did not result in the career transition I had hoped for.

I'm specifically looking for people who have been through something similar.

If you're a former BloomTech/Lambda School student who:

    – Applied for the TRG/refund guarantee

    – Was denied because of timing or documentation

    – Successfully challenged a decision

    – Filed a BPPE, CFPB, state consumer-protection, or other complaint

    – Worked with an attorney or student-loan advocate

    – Received some form of loan relief

    – Or simply found another avenue that I haven't discovered

I'd really appreciate hearing from you.

I'm especially interested in hearing about actual experiences rather than speculation. If you dealt with an attorney, organization, regulator, or other process, I'd like to know what happened and whether it was worth pursuing.

I'm also happy to compare notes/documentation with other affected students if doing so could help establish a clearer picture of what others experienced.

I'm not posting this to tell anyone what they should do. I'm trying to figure out what legitimate options remain available to me and hopefully connect with other people who are dealing with the same thing.

If you've been through this, what steps did you take, and where did you eventually end up?

Looking for other former BloomTech/Lambda School students who have dealt with the TRG, student loans, or similar problems.
