The [underlying earnings series from ONS](https://www.ons.gov.uk/employmentandlabourmarket/peopleinwork/earningsandworkinghours/timeseries/kab9/emp) looks fairly smooth, so I assume the sudden level shifts in the linked graph are because of discontinuities in the Freddos price they use?
