I’m looking for a truck because I’m 6’4 with long legs, so I want something with a little more legroom than a car. I have less than two years of service, a very good credit score, and I’m willing to put around 5k down. My goal is to find a used mid/full-size truck, 2024 or newer, for under 32k OTD after taxes and all fees.
Is this a realistic goal?

Too much money for an e3. I got a solid truck for 20k and I felt like that was still too much
That’s a lot of money and you’re still going to be making payments on the car and maybe insurance when you’re deployed unless you suspend your insurance. But yeah those payments are going to get old quick when you’re not even driving the truck.
Maybe keep saving, buy a way cheaper truck cash, save more, and then when you’re out sell the cheap truck and then finance or something. It’s super delayed gratification but right now I’m mostly focused on increasing my tsp and savings and stuff. But that’s just me.
I’m sure some could find a 2024 or newer truck for 32k OTD, but not where I live. It’d have to be a family/friend deal. I mean, we can all check cargurus. I did Tacoma, Tundra , f150, Ram…each had zero available with 2024, 32k (even though it would be less if you want that OTD). But that’s all within a 100 miles of where I am. Maybe you’re in an area that has it, best to just check there rather than here.
So realistic? No. Possible? Sure, if you know someone or don’t mind a something someone has put 200k miles on.
Outside of that, I wouldn’t advise any of my E3/4s to spend that much on a vehicle. But look at the sub we’re in. I’d rather see them mildly inconvenienced on the commute to and from work and add a few percentage points of pay to their TSP. But we all know…E3 gonna E3. Have you checked out the Charger?
Highly discourage you to do this. Too much debt, too soon in your career with your current income.
I would say don’t buy any car… especially 32k+insurance+gas+maintenance.

Horrible decision. Why buy a $32k brand new POS that’ll be worth half of what you got it for in 5 years?
Just get an old square body truck you can learn to fix yourself.
Why a truck? You like getting fucked at the pump?
