Its a free market economy. Incentivize oil companies. Lower taxes. Ramp up local production. Protect local companies from insolvency when OPEC ramps up production to counter american companies. We want $2.09/gallon. Not $4.66/gallon. Moving from oil to electric should be more gradual.
People must do their minimum to drive 5% less than usual. Cook at home. Insulate your homes.
Govt should incentivize people to buy electric cars and solar panels.

$4 per gallon (=3.8 liter)?!? We pay $2,50 per liter. That is nearly $10 per gallon. Yet we ask our government not to subsidize petrol, but instead use that money to help out people with low income, who are hit hard, while big corporations and their lease car drivers haven't seen extreme profits like this year since the fifties. Please put things in perspective. And drink less sugar.
