I know it’s not the best card but it sure is for me. 3% back on everything beats all my other cards currently.

How do you like your Robinhood Credit Card?

    1. I have it… I use the margin and the 3% IRA match. That’s it. I like collecting points and using those for trips…hotels, rentals, etc. cash back I’ll spend … Points I build to buy stuff. I have the Morgan Stanley Plat, Vanilla plat, AMEX Gold, Gold Business, 2x points blue business Amex, Sapphire Reserve, Preferred, United Club card, and Venture X. If I had to pick one… Venture X for ease and quite frankly, the easiest travel points (300 dollars) to use out of everything. I like AMEX for points multiplier though, overall

I got it when no other issuer would look my direction and for that I’m grateful. That being said, I would rather have a 2% catch all with $200 SUB, it would’ve earned me just as much with better protections + customer service.

Some bonuses are the physical card is sick, digital cards are a great feature, and no-fee AUs. Also, you break even with pretty much every CC surcharge so floating payments can be lucrative. I got grandfathered into no FTFs so it’s perpetually useful. Personally I don’t see a hard nerf anytime soon.

Robinhood Gold has its advantages. Personally I would not trust them with big money, but using the included margin is a good way to break even on the annual fee.

If you’re going throw tens of thousands on it and expect zero protections it may be great. Reason I say may is that RH has a track record of being dicks and cutting off 3% rewards by declaring anything big as a business expense.

It’s great if you are smart about how you play the Robinhood gold game. Use the margin to invest in SGOV. Take advantage of the IRA match. Don’t turn on auto redemptions and don’t spend points on dumb shit like loot boxes. Don’t gamble on options like a regard.

    4. I got one earlier this year and it’s been great for my needs. No problems.

So far the only thing I can complain about it is how long it takes for them to process transactions. Figure on close to a week.

    5. I like it. A little quirky and having to walk on eggshells about charges kinda sucks, but couldn’t ask for a better catch-all really.

    6. I like it I just hate how they gave me a ridiculously low limit of $2K. Then when I paid it off so I can use it, it took like 5 full business days to clear.

    7. All was well and good until I had an issue pop up and customer service was TERRIBLE. Got gaslit by more than one rep too. Dropped Robinhood and moved my spend to a capital one duo set up

    8. It’s pretty nice. I don’t have any other card that gives instant cashback from transactions. The on demand creation of virtual cards (including the trial cards and one time use cards) is useful. Authorized users each have their transactions tracked separately making it very easy to track what your AUs are spending. The card itself looks good and is made of metal if that matters to you.

Some people say the customer service is bad, but I wouldn’t know… I’ve personally never had to dispute a transaction on any of my credit cards in the last 7 years

The $50 annual fee isn’t so bad if you’re willing to make some effort to extract value out of your Robinhood Gold sub. I moved my Roth IRA to Robinhood for the 3% match on contributions ($225/year value), invested the $1k interest free margin into SGOV for a very safe $36/year.

Do not get this card if you’re financially irresponsible or have a propensity for addiction/gambling. The rewards points can be redeemed for stupid shit like lootboxes, gold bars, and solid gold variants of the card. Statement credit can only be redeemed at 0.7cpp. And the Robinhood platform itself is designed to get you addicted to gambling.

I strictly redeem my points for cash and only use RH itself for the SGOV investment + my Roth IRA, so I feel that I’m getting great value out of it.

    9. I like it well enough. The virtual cards are cool to have.

The customer service has a bad reputation so I try to limit my exposure by using it for most things I know I won’t need charge back or dispute for. Also using Apple Pay for everything.

The limit leaves much to be desired though, and no established process to get a CLI.

I really just use it as a general card, as I don’t have enough money to make the most out of my Smartly v1. But when other cards can’t beat the 3%, this is the card I use. Worst case scenario I have an Ollo Optimum to fall back on, albeit at only 2.5%, but it’ll be there if i need it.
