Hi, I’m currently looking at quotes for car insurance through GEICO, and I’m a little confused about this question.
GEICO asks, “Do you currently have auto insurance?” and underneath it says, “Select ‘Yes’ if you are an insured driver on any policy.”
I’ve never had an auto insurance policy or vehicle registered under my own name before. But I am added as an additional driver to my brother’s auto insurance policy. The policy and vehicle are both under his name, but I’m listed as an additonal driver.
My question is: Should I select “Yes” even though I’m not the policyholder and have never had my own car insurance policy before?
Thanks!

As long as you’re insured somewhere, that’s good. You don’t have to be the policyholder.
