I don't see why they just don't trash all the containers on the ship. Unless it's priceless cargo, that shipping company has already lost the cost of the cargo 100 times over. So keeping the cargo, at this point, is simply a huge waste.

Can't they drill a hole some 100 ft close to the stuck point and blow a moderately low intensity dynamite stick to dislodge the sand that's holding the ship to the bank?? And gradually increase or decrease the intensity based on whether the bank loosens or not??

US and India did it to disrupt the Chinese trade. Most of Chinese goods go thru the Suez canal to Europe and vice versa. So blocking that route will disrupt the Chinese trade badly. US came up with the plan and ordered India to do it with 25 Indian crew onboard of the said ship.
