  1. There's a person imitating me – it's a total scam.

    Don't fall for it.

There's only one way to contact me, and that's via my email address in the description of the video.

  2. Must stay abreast of developments certainly. A great update. But it's basically a lot of hooey for Rolex ilk owners and esp potential owners; just another layer of annoying restraint from control structures here and generally.

  3. There is a similar story for counterfeit. An American engineer build the most tiny screw ever achieved so he send it to china mostly to send the Chinese a message who has the better technology. Couple of months later this engineer received a Chinese package and on the inside of the envelope was his screw and next to it a note. The note said if you look closer with a microscope you will se a tiny Chinese screw inside yours! So this Rolex idea will not be that good after all. The solution for counterfeit is for Rolex to build something that the cost for a counterfeit will not include. Say material, finished anything that it will be costly to invest on a counterfeit Rolex watch.

  4. I buy this 100 % especially the block chain aspect to it. I’ve been saying for awhile that watch companies need to utilize block chain as there “warranty card” so it’s confirmed through the network that you own it and when you sell it you transfer that ownership over to someone else.

  5. as someone with 30 years in the business it all makes sense.. better to keep your #$$$$ in Rolex *( or at least what is not in real estate with rental $$$…keep up the great work

  6. Eye’s wide shut……how about the party where the girls are cock eyed? Sea Dweller with its dept rating…..means you won’t crack under pressure. 😂😂…….This Blockchain is another form of corruption it’s all becoming something completely corporate and is starting to represent everything I fucking hate! 🤘🤘

  7. OMG OMMMMMGGGG 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 this is tragggggiiicc austin 😭😭😭😔😔😔 sooo saaad to see this 💔💔 but it’s charity trust foundation so it can survive easily 😔😔♥️♥️👏👍🏼

  8. Sounds like an innovative idea Austin. It's a shame Rolex doesn't open up the watch register to everyone, so that stolen Rolex watches are harder to move on by dodgy dealers, and thieves. The public needs this "back up" because robberies are now an everyday occurrence in some, if not most, of the big towns and cities in Uk. Good content as always. 👍🏼

  9. Got it right on the LH GMT. Report makes sense and a good idea. If you look at referenced Eric's linkedin Under Rolex experience: R&D Engineer & project leaderR&D Engineer & project leader
2001-2004: Active on Laser technology, ceramics product, lithography technologies Looks like a legit background to pursue this type of tech. Still works at Rolex and did work on ceramic bezel.

  10. Rolex are full of it. “Blockchains for serial numbers”? If they were serious about the grey market rip offs that their AD’s are clearly complicit, Rolex would blockchain their supply chain.

  11. I've long predicted that Rolex will introduce a system whereby every watch's serial number will go on a blockchain. The current ownership, the ownership history, Rolex in-house service history, whether a watch has been reported lost or stolen by its last official/legal owner will be publicly viewable via the serial number, while only the official/legal owner will be able to transfer ownership on the blockchain to a new party. In theory this kind of system should make stolen watches very much less valuable. Once it went "hot", a watch would henceforth always be instantly identifiable as such to all and sundry. It could only be traded on the black market by sellers (and to buyers) who are fully in the knowledge that they are illegally trading stolen goods. There would be no plausible plea of ignorance. Moreover a watch could never be serviced or repaired by Rolex (or a reputable independent watchmaker.) People couldn't even have a new bracelet fitted by an AD without having the watch seized. Possession of such an artefact would be, so to speak, a "ticking time bomb"…
(Oh yeah, and Rolex could also keep track of where and when and by whom the watches were being flipped to the grey market too…)

  12. I don't believe it. For high tech up-to-date technology (not stamped characters) I believe a QR code or a micro chip similar to a dog chip would make a lot more sense. I can see that a micro QR code that stores all the details about the watch to be printed in the dial that can only be read with a specialized instrument. Once you have the QR code you can look up the watch and verify it. The obstacle here is that Rolex would have to open up it's internal database for querying, and I don't see that happen any time soon. Not even law enforcement has access to the Rolex manufacturing serial numbers. SO probably it will not happen.

  13. Creating an NFT for each watch with the 3 serial numbers recorded is a total no brainer for Rolex. It’s real easy to do and cheap to implement. This alone would make a big difference. Using some sort of chromatic watermark on the dial is a lot trickier to pull off. You want it essentially invisible to the naked eye but visible under specific wavelengths. Some sort of bank note technology is probably the answer here but it’s all in the execution. I think this leak is on the money – it all makes sense.

  14. I do buy the rumour but what effect will it have on the value of vintage, neo-vintage and current models?

I think the newer models with the 3 serial numbers may affect the value of older models less than newer models… after all, vintage and neo-vintage models are still appreciated, warts an' all, so have less to lose.
