Just came back from the Yay Area, and gas prices were in and around seven dollars a gallon. Combined with rising rates and real inflation, smaller businesses probably can't afford to hire as much, and potential hires have a shorter radius or higher wage needs, so less viable opportunities.
In any case, news plays today and tomorrow, so caution advised.
