Crypto, NFTs, and the metaverse are all words referring to what many say is going to be the next iteration of the internet. But it’s also a world filled with exploitation, scammers and outright theft. Given the recent collapse of the crypto market, can the utopian vision for Web 3.0 survive?

    1. of course it is. crypto dont even exist. Just another way to fool the moron generation to invest in then crash it and make more people poor. wealth transfer to the few. just like housing bubble. it bubble and so on. not that the moron generation will understand it as NFT proves. people paying for things you can have for free))

    2. Does it have any material value. Does it have applied sciences. Was it made like, ta-da a new currency, and then was designed just to steal from investors””. Is it a good model for a one day vr or ar environment, shopping place, ? Of blah? Does it just consume electricity, because it’s plan from those guys, again is to kill everyone, and that’s what they are saying. SARS was something in the bag, loosing your money. Against the plans of everyone else in the world, you know why.

    3. 7:19 did that boomeer just said kids wasting life?? sir theres a thing ccalled esport where u can get sht ton of money and not relying on gpu mining. okeh booma

    4. The haterz in the comments section are hilarious. I invested in crypto in 2017. And again in 2020. I’ve made over $10 million so far and I’m still going! I was never “rich” before Crypto…just always worked and had a steady job and I’m still working! In all honesty I don’t know how this is going to end though BUT I know I’m going to make ALOT more. The $10 million that I’ve made I already pulled out and have reinvested $1 million of it back in. If I lose it 🤷 then I still made $9 million.

    5. Grow up people, crypto mining is killing the planet while producing nothing of actual value, if you pay a 1$ or a Bitcoin your only hope is to sell it for 2$ actual dollars but then that person has the problem in term of actual value “ 0 “ grow up and get a actual job

    6. I wonder if anyone in the comments section has invested in Crypto and made any money? If u haven’t you guys are really just a bunch of dinosaurs. There’s a lot of use case Cryptos you can invest in that are under $1. Some as low as $0.15 cents to $.60 cents. Imagine even investing only $100 in those companies? And eventually they rise in value to $100 plus? You guys are really behind. EVERYONE can still get in and make money.

    7. For an instant, Bitcoin has helped people to send money over the world. Yes, It is slow… But people managed to save thousands of dollar as fee transaction. What makes it scam is that you Ignorant-first world-previleged-people thinks it was a scam for its MULTIVERSE AND MANIPULATIVE VALUE.

    8. Just look at those crappy graphics. This guys are convinced they are making something groundbreaking. Hello? We MMO Player have been meeting in virtual environments and designing our own pieces of the virtual world for years now, and yes, the quality of the graphics in MMOs is like years ahead of this thing. No expensive hardware required. Also a plus, no useless, ridiculously high priced NTFs.

It is just painful to see these guys wasting millions of dollars in ugly JPGs or Minecraft style avatars. I cannot wait for them to wake up to the worst hangover ever when all that useless crap comes crumbling down after the bubble bursts.

    9. No matter how many videos I watch, stories I read, or conversations I have with believers in Crypto, I’ve yet to gain one iota of interest in it. It may be the second coming, but nothing I’ve ever heard makes me give a damn about it.

    10. Michael is such a great journalist, and the way he calls out bs and brings out the basic point in his wrap up dialogue is so perfect. Like in business school the question asked for any new start up, “what problem are you solving?” Justifies the point of what it means to try to live in reality and the metaverse… no matter what it all cost $ so if you are not making that in real in life you can’t fund your digital life.
