According to AAA, the national average for a gallon of regular gas hit another record high at $4.82. This follows a 20-cent spike in the past four days as a $5 a gallon national average is on the horizon. Diesel prices are also at a record high, impacting the cost of everything from food to clothes. GasBuddy’s Patrick De Haan says prices will continue to go up as long as Americans continue their insatiable demand for gas as oil refineries can’t keep up with demand. » Subscribe to NBC News: http://nbcnews.to/SubscribeToNBC

Gas And Diesel Prices Hit All-Time Highs

    1. Gas and food prices can go down, but your kids being mowed down rapid fire guns and not having birth control or teachers quitting over mass shootings and tyranny by their governor's in red states will be forever.

    2. For those unaware.. if diesel goes up then yes indeed you will see the cost of everything begin to skyrocket.. why? because diesel is the fuel for commerce. Shipping runs on diesel.. Ships, Trucks, Semi's, Trains, power plants, factories, YES electric power plants that run on diesel generators will increase the cost of electricity as well. All forms of factory manufacturing then see their running costs go up. its a systemic effect. This is why turning to renewable energy is so important. No it wont solve everything but it will mitigate and lessen the problems when they occur. And bare in mind.. the big oil companies want this to get as high as possible, so that the bar will be raised once it settles.

    3. America, you voted in your feelings and now you get that result. Think about voting for policies instead of your feelings next election!

    4. Well you know the truth that if they want to bring the prices down they just have to produce more oil that's simple as that but they truly do not want they want you to pay more for gas so they are producing less oil because they want to help because they have to that also comes from the president orders

    5. “Look into my eyes…I guarantee you we will eliminate fossil fuels.”
      -Joe Biden 9/6/2019

“The war against fossil fuels has nothing to do with me.”
      -Also Joe Biden

    6. I DON'T WNANT TO HERE IT 203 REPUBLICANS DID NOT CAP THE GAS PRICES IN HOUSE. THEY HAD A CHANCE AND THEY DID NOT CAP ARE GAS .CAP THE GAS.

    7. Biden: we’re in alliance with Europe and banishing Russian oil
Putin: let’s dump all the excess oil cheaply to China
China: yay we get cheap Russian oil to compete against America

    8. The oil companies know their days are numbered with all the electric cars hitting the markets so they will F- us till the wheels fall off

    9. Shipping costs: I don't buy useless crap.
Gas prices: I bike roughly half of my miles travelled a week, so I'm actually spending less on gas a month, despite the increase.
Food: I do eat food, so that's a bummer.
Clothes: I buy like 3 pieces of clothing a year, this is a non-issue.
Travel: I don't need to travel right now, life is perfectly lovely at home.

Yeah, I mean, I don't really notice the differences, except in people's misdirected anger

    10. I'm not a republican or a liberal. This is ridiculous from each side. The democrats want to just not use our own oil causing stupid high gas prices for no reason. The republicans want to use our own gas, but they only want that, and don't care about slowly switching to cleaner energy resources, and they pull us out of the climate talks. It's so stupid. Can we please get a middle guy in office!!!
