  2. It's not about greed from big oil, it's about regulations. We're sitting above a good 100 years worth of oil and the industry is hogtied. If Trump were still in office, prices would be way lower. Regulations down, production up!

  3. $5.10 in Ohio Cincinnati. It's literally double than 2 years ago. Even I drive 30mpg sonata I now plan my trips and avoid unnecessary driving. Time to start saving!

  4. Whats cheaper going out and buying a newer vehicle that gets a few more miles to the gallon or just keeping what you have, I will keep my old beater that gets 20 mpg, imagine spending $30,000-$50,000 just to get an extra 10-15 mpg thats alot to spend just for better fuel milage, i would rather spend an extra $500 a year on fuel for 10-15 yrs vs spending $30,000-$50,000 on a new vehicle.

  5. Gas prices are dependent on 2 things: spot price of oil (West Texas Crude or British) and the cost of refining that oil into various fuels (including gasoline). Spot price of oil is dependent on demand, which can sometimes be manipulated by speculators who STORE oil on tankers parked in various ports around the world. They can pay $50-$100k per day to park those tankers…which is pennies compared to the millions made when oil prices increase. This is exactly what happened in 2005 when Hurricane Katrina was moving toward New Orleans as a major Cat5 storm (it landed as a Cat3 storm, but New Orleans never put any money to shore up their infrastructure…due to corrupt politicians, but that's another story)…anyway, speculators got the idea they could make money short term, by parking some tankers full of oil…they risked a lot, but made billions…

  6. The price of regular gas in New Brunswick, Canada is $2.07 per litre or $7.83 US gallon . Diesel is $2.22 per litre or 8.44 US gallon . I am glad I don’t own a pickup truck .

  7. George Bush was a one term president because he lied to the American people; yes the Reagan trickle down theory only trickled down so much but when cornered in debates Bush said: 'read my lips, no new taxes' and then after winning he raised taxes. The failed economic plan of Reagan could only be cured with a tax hike and of course the middle class got stuck with the bill.

  8. To the Audi guy. If you want to dig into this problem yourself the first thing I’d do is replace the map sensor depending on cost… Or just get yourself a DVM and probe the system. The computer is expecting to see return voltage from the map sensor not to it. The return voltage will vary based on engine rpm’s.

  9. If we all switched to electric they have to recoop their tax money lost from gas sales. They have already started pay per mile in some US states and UK. They will keep rising prices on pay per mile driving until they have achieved higher than taxes off gas. In order to do this they will track you and this is dangerous. Don't forget carbon tax.

  10. Let's not complicate the obvious or ignore basic facts. 2 years ago, when Donald Trump was in the White House, we were not only energy independent, but exporting energy . . . not buying it from our enemies. But when the liberal lunatics took over and started their aggressive war on real-world energy, everything turned around 180 degrees . . . no mystery involved. ANYTIME you do ANYTHING to either restrict production or restrict competition, you basically GUARANTY inflation and shortages of the commodities in question, and everything involved. Everything built, grown, or transported in the free world involves REAL energy, not unicorn crap or fairy dust. THAT'S why we're where we are now. And the Department of Energy (like all government operations) has only driven prices up and restricted both production and competition. No surprise there. Let's get real for a change.

  11. For some odd reason in mid '71, gas at our corner gas station (West Warren & Wyoming in Dearborn Michigan) was 14.9 cents on Wednesday, bump up to 32.9 on Friday, then walk back down to 14.9 the next Wednesday. This went on for about 3 months. There were 4 gas stations (Shell, Standard, Sunoco & X-Press) at that corner and participated in a gas war. Good old days.

  12. I'll say I'm not totally against electric cars. but I won't get one for work an fun. over all I love my ford diesel. I got my 01 new. it did great pulling extreme loads with far better mileage then any gas. and half the time I'm up in the mountains. I go up there an work my truck and come back and still have half a tank. from what I seen on the test . we would have to have big generators to charge are trucks. what I hate is control. they forcing this on us. I hate the government.. we are charging 75% more so we can make a living with a profit.

  13. Been riding my Harley as primary transportation for 15 yrs plus looks like I'm keeping it that way car only when I really need too gas prices are just ridiculous

  14. When Obama was in office he shut down about 8, refineries supplying the east coast because the west coast was bitchin' that their prices were higher. This was expected since Obama said in a pre-election speech at a Michigan college that he saw 'nothing wrong with $7, per gallon fuel'.
I still can't understand how anyone with that point of view could possibly get elected to 2, terms.
It takes a lot of time and money, and crude availability, to bring them back online.

  15. I heard there was a bill trying to get passed that would allow the president to declare an `energy emergency` which in turn would fine big oil when they price gouge during or after natural disasters/pandemics, only problem has been getting all the seats at senate with big oil pockets to vote for it 🤔

I just hope it doesn't continue to keep going up for no other reason than to insulate big oil pockets, reporting record 3x annual revenue increases? At least provide condoms at the pump so we can be safe while we're being screwed for every ⁹⁄₁₀ cent 🔥
