Gazprom: 'No solution' to Germany's Nordstream crisis, underlines changing energy market

Gazprom sees no solution to the ongoing equipment issue at the Portovaya compressor station, part of the Nord Stream 1 pipeline that carries Russian gas to Germany, its CEO said on Thursday.

In his words, sanctions were preventing Gazprom from getting key equipment out of Canada. The Russian gas giant has lots of equipment for the pipeline that is due to undergo major maintenance, CEO Miller added.

Germany accused Russian gas giant Gazprom of pushing prices by reducing supply on Wednesday. Natural gas prices in Europe spiked to over $1,500 per thousand cubic meters on Thursday, for the first time since April.

  1. Yawn…another attempt by the anglo-saxons to destroy the EU. Been trying for 5 decades and still can't do it as the EU just gets stronger with new partners. Can't wait to see the rapprochement with russia once all this is said and done as the future is Russia, China and Asia and the not the US or the UK.

  2. Germany's Green Economics minister is inept and unqualified for his position. When cornered by his own actions he throws a tantrum and blames others instead of simply contacting the just as inept Canadians who are actually damaging Germany by santions against Russia.

  3. I am living in the EU and the UK and always believed its less corrupted and wise. This year it was blown away by stupid actions of politicians….
I can't understand why ordinary people are so happy to see that Nord stream 2 or 1 would not be working… it is sign of total misunderstanding of how their country is prospering, who will pay for it, etc. They so happy to harm Russia, like it is Dart Vader with Black star for them…crazy, looks like Europe would be degraded in a century time, because other countries are getting stronger, smarter and together.
The move Putin does, will be rebuild Russia, the moves West have done, deminishing profits, income and puting businesses on halt. How we can be proud of this bunch of stupid politicians? Also, someone is still voting for them, Gosh.

  4. Gazprom is not obliged under the present conditions to explain anything to anybody, still they did to prove the West's disoriented and disillusioned mental status of being superior.

  5. Western Europe should set its political priorities straight. Either it should integrate Eastern Europe an coexist with Russia based on purely business principles, or re-align itself back to the cold war political model along with UK and US. After all Russia isn't the only source of natural resources. Otherwise Europe will get weaker and weaker politically and economically. China and the US will be calling the shots.

  6. More fool germany for being dependent on russia (a defined threat to germany confirmed by their membership of nato). why fund an adversary and then spend again to defend against them.

  7. German , France, the Netherlands, the Belgium ,the Italian, the Spain, the England politicians are dogs of USA, they don't think about the people who vote for them . What of bunch of so called themselves People party, democratic party ..People WAKE UP!!

  8. Germany asked for it. The Nord Stream 2 is now ready but Germany sanctions its own pipeline. So if Nord Stream 1 cannot deliver the supply can be switched to Nord stream 2. It is common sense. EU is digging its own grave on energy.

  9. well duh! you send weapons to kill Russian troops………..what would you expect to see happen? Am i the only person in the world that got spanked for doing something wrong when i was a kid?

  10. Saw that Gazprom cant deliver nat gas through North str I, due to lack of components, after the sanctioning from the US admin on the german gas deliveries.

But I have a solution on this problem.
Start deliver the ordered nat gas through North Stream II instead.
Then there also will be no risk from stops after war damages or terrorist sabotages inside ucraine.
    Good sudgestion??!!!!!
    Yes isn't it.

    Germany get theire gas.
They can produce electricity so germany doesn't download the french, italian, portugees, and spanish el grids and gas grids.
So nobody needs to become sicc or die out of the extrem heat that are present.
And this will also make it possible to fine tune the NSIi before the european winter cool is coming.
