    1. Chucky-boy,

You didn't even MENTION one of the MAJOR causes for the steep increase in gasoline prices: rampant price gouging by the U.S.‐based multinational oil companies at a time when they are making record profits.

Chucky‐boy, you don't bother to ask THESE questions:
      1) Why haven't the oil companies increased their refining capacity when demand for gas has been increasing now that the Covid pandemic is no longer ranging and people are now increasing personal travel and returning to commuting to work? And
      2) Are the oil companies failing to increase the SUPPLY of refined oil when there is an increased DEMAND for refined oil in order to maintain the high price of gasoline and their record profits?

Chucky-boy, of course, you don't mention the FACT that the only way to solve þhe supply and demand problem would be to nationalize the oil industry, or at a minimum, the oil refining industry. Oops! That's socalism! The U.S. government has overthrown governments (ex., Iran), invaded and occupied countries (ex, Iraq), and illegally sanctioned to death counrtries whose form of government we don't like ex., Venezuela and Iran) in order prevent other countries from nationalizing their oil resources or to ease the way for U.S. oil companies to pillage the oil resources of other countries as well as our own. So I guess we won't try to nationalze OUR country's oil and natural gas resources; we even give the oil and coal companies billions of taxpayer's dollars — in the form of tax credits — every year to pillage our national resources and to continue creating the coming climate catastophe.

You also fail to mention the role of the Ukraine war in the world-wide increase in oil prices and the fact that the cost of oil drilled in the U.S. is hugely influenced by the world-wide price of oil, which is largely controlled by the OPEC cartel.

Yes, U.S. companies could sell their U.S.-drilled oil to their U.S. refineries at lower prices, but why would they? Noone except a few progressive politicians and multiple progressive media sources are calling out the oil conglomerates for their massive price gouging. But THEIR voices will NEVER be heard in corporate media shows such as Meet the Press because the corporate media DESPISES theprogressive media and progressive politicians.

    2. I like the bit at the end where he tries to claim that if we were paying for gas today using 2008 dollars, it's really less than $4 gallon. Except when I pull up to the pump today, I'm actually paying over $5 a gallon.

    3. there is a quick solution , rich oil companys r making lots of profit and could easily cut the price at pump right now

    4. Chuck "Crook" Todd trying to bamboozle the few left viewers with voodoo "economics". He looks like Joe Bidet after falling off his tricycle.

    5. Yes there is a fix stop bailing out Wall Street for over speculation of oil fueling Russians war and destroying America wake up America it’s Wall Street the media won’t tell you that

    6. dont worry folks, the much needed US$ 40 Billion relief fund will be handed out real soon… to the Ukraine…

kudos to the house and senates, they understood their constituent's suffering, acted swiftly and accordingly by rapidly approving the US$ 40 Billion aid package… this really show how much they care… for the Ukrainian…

    7. They r lying to the world….there is an easy way to fix all of this. "Tax net profits" its the magic bucket they won't talk about because nobody has the balls to stand up n use it. Net profits is a finite number they brag about the all the time so u know they r real. If we 6axed net profits it eliminates the argument over unrealized gains. Call it a cost of doing business tax idc but that's the secret economists and rich types will never acknowledge. Tax net profits now. Its the answer to ALL our issues. Don't let economists fool you. Money, economy, this is man made 100% nothing different than rules to candy land or monopoly. It's a board game we play in real life thats all. Tax net profits now!

    8. You guys in the USA are lucky would like to know what we pay in the UK?? Stop complaining about things you are better off even in food and all essential amenities but we carry on lmao 🤣

    9. I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, we are finding it impossible to replace it. We can get by, but cant seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 40years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for,

    10. In Hungary gas costs 1 GBP/litre same as 1 year ago. We use Russian oil. We decided not to fund this war between USA and Russia happening in Ukraine. West decided not to pay the 'cost of freedom'. the west decided to pay it. so do not whine. For a free Donbass you must starve your kids.

    11. I bet it will take time to straighten the gas prices out this government of ours have screwed things up so bad wake up people they are doing this on purpose they are trying to lower our standard of living. This administration and Congress are just plain sorry
