A day after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy strongly criticized Canada over its decision to allow a Canadian company to return turbines from a Russian pipeline that supplies natural gas to Germany, the Ukrainian World Congress says it plans to sue Canada over the decision.
“This was a very difficult decision, but we have seen Russia consistently try to weaponize energy as a way of creating division among the allies, of undermining the general population’s support for this essential effort in Ukraine that governments support,” Trudeau told reporters in Kingston, Ont. Wednesday.
But will that answer satisfy Ukranian leadership?

Canada deserve a fierce rebuke for giving into the pressure and providing Russia with these turbines. Having said that Ukraine suing Canada is just going to create a situation where Canadian citizens will begin pushing back AGAINST the Ukraine support efforts.
It was a terrible decision to give those turbines to Russia, it's also a terrible decision for Ukraine to hamper the support they are being provided by suing a Country whose general populace supports their efforts.

Canada could not win here. Keep the turbine and be perceived as being responsible for Europe’s energy crisis or send it and now Ukraine wants to play politics and launch a lawsuit. It was a lose/lose for Canada. Putin wants to cut energy to Europe and now he can’t blame Canada anymore for that.
Ukrainian lawmakers haven’t launched a lawsuit against their European partners who still pay Russia 80 million dollars a month for oil. I guess there’s a price after all for all the free military aid. You’d think they’d be too busy trying to prosecute war crimes than suing countries over a turbine.
