Russian energy company Gazprom has followed through with its plans to reduce gas supply to Germany through the Nord Stream pipeline. Germany’s gas network operator confirmed that flows dropped to just 20 percent of their normal volumes on Wednesday morning.
The cuts will make it difficult for Germany to fill its reserve tanks before the winter. Germany is already at the second stage of a three-level emergency gas plan. Further cuts could trigger rationing. Germany’s cabinet is expected to address the energy crisis at its meeting in Berlin today.

I read through a bunch of the comments. The problem wasn’t setting up a deal with Russian gas. That was good for Germany and Russia. The disaster happened when NATO and the US decided on sanctions.
There will be now many praying and trying hard for global warming….

Russia should cut it off completely. Europe is full on fighting them in a proxy war. Europe and the US need to learn their are other powers, other opinions, other countries. And Russia at least is showing they're not another lap dog for the west. Good on them!!
This wouldn't have happened, if NATO just said no to Ukraine on joining, it was always about US vs Russia, Europe blindly followed that country and now this is the result. Everyone must think about there own people first, Putin will gas choke Europe and the ordinary people will suffer because of there government and Europe's daddy the United States. Soon there will be a global hunger and countless lives will be lost. If you Europeans knew this is gonna be the result, once Putin turns off the gas, why did you followed the US blindly?

Slowing down cars saves petrol and diesel. When crude oil is refined into petrol and diesel they use enormous amounts of electricity, so using less petrol and diesel uses less electricity which uses less gas.
