Remember the 22 bullet shortage awhile back? When civil or world war starts, I'm sure bullets will be scarce… Invest in enough to trade and barter…for food and supplies along the way. When everyone is trying to survive Armageddon…. Metals and currency won't have any value…but, those bullets will.

You are 100% correct sir, but there is a place for small denomination of gold(1/10 ounce size), and 1 oz. silver coins. Before the poop hits the ventilator, we will experience a rapid rise in inflation. At that time, you trade in your bullion for cash to buy more lead, food and fuel. I think if something does happen you are going to need food and shelter. If you have a garden and you have some livestock you have all you need to be honest. I remember years ago, Paul Harvey said the same thing. A hundred years ago an ounce of gold could buy you a real nice suit. Today an ounce of gold will buy you a real nice suit. I had a fella call me a few years ago wanting me to convert my 401 K to gold. I told him the same thing. He hadn't considered that. Your portfolio may look good with big numbers but, what is your buying power with your riches. When I watch the Gold Rush on Discovery, I realized after you pay for equipment, fuel, repairs, and payroll, you have to do it again just to stay solvent. Great Video PawPaw. if things get bad enough a can of beans is worth more than a bar of gold this value system also applies to water, dry goods, and yes ammo…basically things of intrinsic value that keep well – developing useful skills also a good idea – alternate sources of power…
