While Cardano seeks to build a future of interoperable blockchains, Hoskinson explains that cryptography needs to evolve before the emergence of quantum computing and quantum technology, as a breakthrough in mathematics and computation could decrypt encrypted data that safeguard sensitive information.

“You would like to upgrade your cryptography and start using post-quantum crypto — so cryptography that’s immune to quantum computers — as soon as possible,” he said.

    1. Sorry to let Charles know he was wrong as IT"s not as easy as he expect, because there's only one sutiable algorithm selected from NIST which is best suitable for blockchain and cryptocurrencies in long-term secure stable requirements, and it's quite hard to upgrade the algorithm per our best knowledge.

    2. He's talking about the more formidable RSA hashing system for the entire ledger but what about hacking satoshi's or some other abandoned whale's ECC private key? They would be able to make transactions on the post quantum ledger wouldn't they?

    3. Fuck I got a feeling Jesus freaks will push back any technology researchers and developers for quantum computing. Caz they always see everything as threats aka 666 the devil or Bible apocalypse. I want to see technology designed for the quantum computing era now.

    4. Blockchain will makes cryptos safe.
People that doesn’t know anything about this are like, cool lets makes cryptos happen.
10 years later, quantum computer compromise everything.

      Cool
