As far as non-financial applications go, identity is only scratching the surface. I envision a future where doctors issue prescriptions on chain, where marriage is a smart contract with terms of divorce set in stone & executed in a blink. Probate law, too; life insurance, division of estates, so on, could be triggered by a coroner issuing an NFT representing a death certificate… Much much more!
Needless fragmentation, if ETC can adapt to the influx of new miners then there is no point in a new chain. There will surely be some miners that are going to go their own way.
This may sound crazy how do I know if my ETH is staked or stored. I purchased ETH in 2018 on coinbase.
The POW chain could also undo the burn mechanism on their chain. Remember when they said it was a bad idea.
