Experts said the burnt gas would have previously been exported to Germany. Since June, researchers have noted a significant increase in heat emanating from the facility. They said the plant is burning an estimated $10 million worth of gas every day. Others have suggested that more than four million cubic metres of gas are being burned by the flare every day.
