Italian fashion giant Gucci is the first major brand to accept payments in the form of the Bored Ape Yacht Club-affiliated ApeCoin.
This move could give the ApeCoin project a significant mainstream presence and bring further benefits to the cryptocurrency.
Gucci customers in the United States will now be able to purchase items in-store with APE.
In February, Gucci launched its “SUPERGUCCI” NFT collection. The following month, Gucci launched the “Gucci Grail” NFT collection, aimed at owners of top NFT projects like BAYC.
Then in May, the company announced plans to accept 12 cryptocurrencies as payment in 111 stores across North America.
The list included Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash , Ether , Wrapped Bitcoin, Litecoin, Shiba Inu, Dogecoin and five US dollar stablecoins.
