Its a well know fact US and UK tried to kill two birds with one stone – Russia we all know, another was Germany. As a simple equation – Russian gas and raw materials, German – engineering and China's scalability and One Belt One Road – a win win situation for all three and a threat to US lead EU economic hegemony. Thus Russia being forced to start spl mil ops in Ukraine by deploying Ukraine forces in eastern Ukraine as Nord Stream II was about to go live. Russia itself – but there are many issues – first Russia does not want to loose its credibility and that's the reason it waited till last hour before starting spl mil ops – otherwise when US and EU was busy in Afghanistan Russia would have taken care of Ukraine but wouldn't have waited for 8 years, plead Ukraine to follow Minsk agreement, lastly made a request to Ukraine – just to say it won't join NATO and remain neutral…but all in vain

Russians have no reason to blow up pipelines that they can simply turn off. Seems more likely the US could have a hand in the incident.
my guess is the US and Ukraine did it. Ukraine has killed 14,000 Russians since they got rid of the democratic government in 2014. The US has waged war on Russia and while they don't have the great hate for Russia that some Ukrainians have, they want to profit.
