Swedish police on Tuesday said it had launched a preliminary investigation into possible sabotage related to the Nord Stream 1 gas leak in the Baltic Sea.
A police spokesperson said: “We have established a report and the crime classification is gross sabotage”.
Norway said it will strengthen security at its oil and gas installations in the wake of gas leaks in the Baltic Sea and reports of drone activities in the North Sea.

It’s outrageous that the whole population can see what is clearly happening yet these sociopaths literally do not care at all. SABOTAGE IS A WIN FOR USA
1. It deprives Russia of the ability to use gas as a weapon against Europe (via Nordstream 1 operated by Gazprom). Russia cannot threaten to turn off the taps this winter, which was widely predicted.
2. It helps USA's foreign policy objectives by making Europe more dependent on USA for gas & oil as opposed to Russia. The USA has always expressed their disapproval of Nordstream 1 & 2 for their own economic & geopolitical strategic interests. (See Note A below).
3. It increases the USA's global export earnings from gas and oil & collectable government taxes.
4. It reduces Russia's foreign export earnings and therefore its ability to collect huge taxes to finance its invasion of Ukraine.
5. It helps devalue the Ruble, which had been doing surprisingly well due to Russia demanding all payments for its oil and gas bought by Europe as a tactic in the sanctions battle.
I. It is not in the interests of Russia at all for the reasons above. Why rob themselves of a very valuable bargaining chip when they can easily turn off the Nordstream tap at their end in an openly hostile way, or by claiming it's due to an engineering failure or to carry out crucial maintenance, as seemed to to be the case previously.
II. The sabotage may have been a USA military operation for the reasons above. The USA government & media obviously blame it on Russia as a false flag.
III. However, it could have been carried out by another nation (or even non governmental rogue agents) for their own strategic interests by helping to maintain the current global order with the USA as their ally.
Notes:
A. The USA is a huge exporter of gas & oil. Demand for LNG (Liquid Natural Gas) transportation ships & infrastructure including gas reservoir storage in the USA has been increasing, especially since the invasion of Ukraine.
B. Russian gas giant Gazprom made a record $41.75 billion net profit in the first half of 2022. The sabotage will severely damage Gazprom until Nordstream 1 can be repaired, and even then, it can be used by Russia as a gambling chip, or Europe could decide not to buy the gas any longer.

The rationale for the Russians sabotaging their own Nord Stream pipeline is perfectly obvious. It is because, due to typically bad Russian technology, the Russian submarine that torpedoed the pipeline never received the message from base, that was sent THREE WEEKS EARLIER, saying "We've switched OFF the gas, so now there is NO NEED to torpedo the pipeline".
