Russia said on Thursday that the U.S. stands to benefit from ruptures to the Nord Stream gas pipelines under the Baltic Sea, in comments that escalate a war of words with the West over responsibility for the still-unexplained damage.

In a press briefing, foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said the U.S. would be able to boost its sales of liquefied natural gas (LNG) if the pipelines were put permanently out of use.

The European Union is investigating the cause of the leaks in the Gazprom-run Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines under the Baltic Sea and has said it suspects sabotage.

Neither was in use at the time of the incidents, but both still contained large volumes of gas.

Plus, the Kremlin also said on Thursday that incidents on two major undersea gas pipelines from Russia to Germany look like acts of state-sponsored “terrorism.”

“This looks like an act of terrorism, possibly on a state level,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on a daily call.

    1. In Feb 2022, both Biden and Nuland publicly stated that if Russia invaded, they would stop the pipeline. Their three letter agency then made a point of issuing a general warning of potential sabotage, but didn't specify a party. Think about it.

    2. Anyone else get notifications to this video and when you click to view it, get a message stating the video is not found, but then you search directly in the Global News channel and find it? Am I being prevented from viewing and commenting on these videos?

    3. The culprits are JuSA, EJu, and JuK…they are all in it to deprive, break, and/or destroy Russia so they could loot Russia's rich resources and to maintain the JuSD hegemony

    4. 100% this was America's doing. Trying to make sure Germany doesn't cave this winter when they are freezing and ask Russia to start the flow of gas again. Now that's not an option for at least a year until repairs are done. The American deep state is an insane terrorist organization. With friends like America who needs enemies.

    5. You Russian bots are silly. Russia attacked the pipelines and erroneously believed that blaming the US would work as an excuse. It's backfired already, sorry to tell you. Russia is officially a pariah state. Report back to your Kremlin leadership that your mission was unsuccessful.

    6. Russia owns the pipeline so they can do whatever they want with it, maybe if Canada built pipelines then they could blow them up too.

    7. Yeah it will be objective..were sending in a guy named Hunter Diden to lead the investigation…alot of experience in oil and gas and Slavic shenanigans 🤣😂

    8. I've been on the fence for a lot of things relating to the Ukraine Russia conflict, but it doesn't make sense for Russia to blow its own pipeline. I honestly think that its some sort of Deep Swamp party that wants war with Russia, and on this I stand with Russia. Might be that they did attack their own pipeline, but what do they have to gain outside of starving Europe of Energy? Its a move thats disadvantegous to Russia, and wholly advantageous to NATO (in terms of entering the conflict) or the US.

    9. NATO just outright accused Russia of destroying their own pipelines. Biden made threats about nordstream previously. There's a screwjob afoot here, and my guess is Russia isn't the bad guy…but that won't stop the spin.

    10. Objective investigation? lol Still waiting for that Italian guy to say who was responsible for firing at the nuclear plant in Ukraine. what happened to THAT investigation? Crickets…. Germany and the rest of them will say what the USA tells them to say.

    11. a direct attack on EU critical infrastructure. almost like a declaration of war. the EU needs to have a good look at who her friends really are.

    12. No one wants to work with Russia on this and they can't imagine why… .Huh… I couldn't possibly think of one event going on anywhere in the world right now that could possibly influence the opinions of other countries and make them not want to be of any assistance to Russia right now…. It's just the strangest thing.

    13. For what it's worth, if anything, a four-page section of a leaked RAND Corp document highlights destroying German / Russian cheap energy supply to benefit the US. Friends like that who needs ….?

    14. Isn’t it something that our western politicians have lied to us for so long, about absolutely everything, so consistently that we believe the likes of Putin over any one of our own politicians?

    15. No matter what, all fingers will pointing to Russia, even we have a concrete evident smoke guns from others state sponsored territory (by the US or other western countries), they will denied it, and blame Russia

    16. I predict that the official western conclusion will be that Russia did this by cyber attack, i.e. hacking the software that manages these pipelines, and causing them to explode. The MSM will then inflame the paranoia of hacking and cyber attacks just as they did for COVID. The governments will then grant themselves more money and powers for universal surveillance.

    17. The US did it but no one from the West will be willing to discuss it until after the Zazis leave Ukraine entirely. In the future, russia O&G will not be used by the West. Ever again. Period. Biden said he would stop NORD 2 if you invaded Ukraine. He did what he said he would do. Now the only think of value in russia is of no interest to the West, ever again.
