Why would Russia deliberately destroy its strongest bargaining chip in re-establishing trade with Germany & destroy its billion dollar infrastructure , when they could turn off the tap? They don't need to damage their infrastructure to not honor their contracts, it was Germany through EU pressure that refused to honor the contract to purchase.

A great way to gain global unity would be for the US or a EU nation to blow up the pipeline almost guaranteeing that it will be a very cold winter for Germany. They need to find out who sabotaged that pipeline and quick before this escalates any further. I don't buy that it was Russia. That's a lot of money to lose for them in building the pipeline and the revenue it would bring in.
