U.S., European Union accuse Russia of sabotaging Nord Stream pipelines



Western leaders are accusing Russia of deliberately sabotaging Europe’s Nord Stream pipelines. CBS News chief foreign affairs correspondent, and “Face the Nation” moderator, Margaret Brennan, discusses the situation.

    everyone already know it was the united state Cia why would Russia attack its own investment all Russia need to do is shut off the pipeline when it could just shut it off

    I sorry but I just can't believe Russia sabotaged their major leverage and bargaining chip over Europe. Russia can always shut off or open the tap at their fancy. Fear of breaking contract? … Europe are not paying them either way.
    US and UK know this action effectively prevent Europe from having the option to lift sanctions. Germany is on the verge of lifting gas sanctions.

    To me this more about Eu paying some costly dues to the fishes. America pleases them by at least pouring tea into their ocean. Time and time again.

    Several Russian submarines could do this in 70 meters of water. Even a passing signals boat could drop a device directly above the 4 explosions. Attaching a mine to the pipe seems riskier perhaps 🤔.

    By Russia? Maybe by the U.S.? Maybe by another a NATO nation? Maybe by China? There can be insightful arguments made all around. One interesting fact remains. There is abundant energy in the world. The west is committing economic suicide.

    These pipelines have some value only if, and when gas is flowing through them.
    Nord stream 1 had not been working for many days, due to needed repairs.
    It’s very likely that the current sanctions kept Russia from having access to parts and other technological resources required to perform the repairs.
    GazProm was facing billions of dollars in fines for not delivering the gas it committed to deliver to Europe.
    A nice way out for Russia and GazProm would be to sabotage the gas pipes and render them useless.
    It would be very easy for GazProm to send a robot with powerful explosives down the gas pipes and remotely detonate the explosive loads.
    Germany stopped the certification of Nord Stream just before it was commissioned, turning it into a giant pile of junk in the bottom of the sea, it never delivered a single cubic meter of gas.
    Once the investigations are complete, they will show exactly how the pipes were damaged.

    sounds a lot like the words of Wall Street, banks, hedge funds etc.. that has failed to deliver, spoofing, ya'll name it but I cant confirmed it (speculation). putin say's it wasn't him (speculation)

    Only we hear from all sides: the West defends order based on rules. Where did they come from? Who even saw these rules? Designed for fools. Russia is a great thousand-year-old civilization and will not live under such rigged, false rules – Putin

    Russia could easily just said is was no longer sending gas to Europe until their assets get free why the short hair on Pipeline they're already at war and being called the bad guy so this would have did nothing if they refuse to send gas or oil

    OBVIOUSLY IT WAS AMERICA AGAIN. They couldn't stand to see Russia successful and in energy partnership with Germany. EU is PATHETIC if they are going to go along with this and blame Russia.
