It’s no secret Europe’s energy emergency is as dire as ever with fall and winter approaching. Already facing potentially years of supply rationing, European Union authorities are floating proposals to separate electricity prices from natural gas prices. It’s enough to force countries like Germany to reconsider decisions to mothball nuclear power plants and to keep them operating beyond 2022.

Are we on the verge of a nuclear renaissance that will free Europe from Russian natural gas and other external suppliers? Mark Nelson, the managing director of the Radiant Energy Group, joins Real Vision’s Andreas Steno Larsen for an in-depth conversation about the energy crisis and the factors contributing to Europe’s predicament.

Mark addresses lingering fears and questions about nuclear power production and makes the case for the immediate revival of existing capacity and commencement of new projects as well. Recorded on August 22, 2022.

  2. Too little too late im afraid. It would take years to set up nuclear facilities in Europe. And that's IF the European leaders actually wanted it to take place. They dont. The goal of Klaus and the gang is depopulation…..They literally say this publicly at every WEF meeting each year.

  3. Andreas says he agrees with Mark that the energy situation in Europe is dire? Wait, didn't Andreas say not long ago that Europe is better prepared than thought? Guess Andreas' opinion blows with the wind (or guest)

  4. Great interview with Mark. He was interviewed on another channel and the interviewer kept cracking jokes and giggling so inappropriately. cough <Decouple> cough

  5. funny mustache is crazy and wrong in most ways, waist just store it -then what ? not even talking to reduce usage , should be less people in the world first. too many humans

  6. It looks like the WEF is achieving it’s agenda. When you look at all these people in Governments everywhere, and the policies they are enforcing and how devastating it is for everyone it should be obvious to everyone.
Merkel, Macron, Boris, Biden & now Truss are all members of the WEF (to name a few political leaders who are members) and look at the instability they have all caused.
I feel that people need to recognise what is happening here, and unite against the tyranny that’s the WEF.
OUR GOVERNMENTS DON’T CARE ABOUT THEIR INDIVIDUAL COUNTRIES, BUT GLOBALISATION. THEY ARE ONLY LOOKING TO SECURE THEIR OWN WEALTH AND SECURITY, AT THE EXPENSE OF EVERYONE ELSE.

  7. European plants are cold water reactors with more shutdown features on compared to the boiling water reactors in Japan. Also Europe doesn’t get many large earthquakes or sunnarmys. Nuclear can change power generation as demand needs so is perfect for electricity generation. People need to wake up. They are highly safe and have no ongoing Carbon emissions which most don’t like right now. Wake up.
