go long brent oil $130 a barrel. price has broken out of the downtrend channel pulled back and is making a double bottom on the 4 hr.

Like you I am long in materials so have positions in BHP,RIO and FMG. The investment thesis being Australia is awesome at digging stuff out of the ground and shipping it overseas to countries hooked on it. I do see some headwinds – all three of these companies have projected lower earnings over the next few years. I just don't know where in the commodities cycle we are in at the moment – is it going to boom again? or are we at the end of the cycle, and consider getting out? Anyway, still in there long.
I'm not convinced about gold miners though – just doesn't excite me – every time I look at those I go nah, better things to invest in, even if it is just indices.
