    1. I would far rather put on an extra pair of warm socks and turn my heating down to the point where I'm just keeping my pipes from freezing than keep paying money to that war criminal.

    2. It doesn't have to get to below -30C for a winter to be cold. You will still be miserable around 6C plus during the day and around -3C in the night. Those of you that still have jobs to go will find that they're getting up at around the coldest point in time of the day. I wonder will the boiler have enough warm water? And how many of you will go to work unshowered and smelly?

And then you still need gasoline to get to work, gasoline which right now is coming for the most part from national stockpiles. Stockpiles that are running out. Unless of course you own an electric car and then you don't need gas. But if electricity is already four times what it was around the same time last year, how many times more will it be that in December and January?

And how much electricity will reach your home? Just because the power is on, does not mean you're getting 240 VAC at 20A. You might get around 200 VAC that keeps dropping the more amps you draw. That's what is called a "brown out". Which is still better than a complete blackout, at least you will be able to charge your phone and your notebook.
Whether you can charge your car or not will be a question of the charging electronics and the power that reaches them — and whether your car will allow you to charge it. Because it is likely the manufacturer might send a command to your car to stop charging beyond five percent or whatever is needed to preserve battery health. To protect the power grid, of course.

There will be plenty of misery this winter, but if you're hoping that people will throw bricks through the windows of the Russian embassy, you're going to be extremely disappointed. Most people understand why energy prices are skyrocketing and supply is dwindling. They know that this is a self-inflicted wound and that their government chose to cut them off from affordable Russian energy and is completely fine letting them suffer. They also know that their governments and all the swine in those will be cozy and warm while they, the people will be miserable and cold. How long do you think any European government is going to have under these circumstances?

    3. 19:08 either I'm misunderstanding you or this is not true. The price cap is still not in place as of now. It supposed to start in January for industry consumers and March for private households.
I think the main reason for Unipers (almost) collapse was the high dependency on Russias gas.

    4. But how does the price cap affect standing charges? My energy company has doubled the daily standing charge, which means if I use no electricity or gas, my bills are very high for using nothing at all

    5. Won’t make any difference to the average Russian as all those billions are mopped up by the cartel of thieves and gangsters who run the country. Plus they’re going to need more gas for the cremations of so many of their young men. The whole thing is disgusting.

    6. Could it be that the sabotage of the Nord Stream lines was a way to hedge investment models for constructing LNG facilities in North Europe? Consider how confident payback on building such would have been if, when the war ended, the pipe transmission could've been easily restarted.

    7. Turn down your heating. Walk instead of using you car. Do anything not give this vile creature victory in Ukraine and to help him and the other monsters he supports…..who are using his play book… to be brought down. As the saying goes: "Every little helps". It is up to all of us.

    8. In Britain our goverment has & is wasting a massive opportunity to store natural Gas ⛽ , we are an island with a huge number of ports , we also have the Rough storage facility under the North sea which the conservatives, has yet to organise this storage since Feb 2022 .

With gas at the price it is they could of solved our power problem at a stroke , bought the gas built a line across the North Sea to Europe & be supplying gas at a profit for the nation , even an idiot like me could work that out but this Con guv couldn't run a bar in a brewery!!!!

    9. Thanks for another great video @Joe Blogs. If you’d told me on New Year’s Eve last year that I would be watching financial videos this year, eagerly anticipating the next episode I’d have steered you towards the bar suggesting you urgently needed a top up. Brill content mate. Thanks again. Kind regards. Tony.

    10. You buy your energy from Russians, your merchandise from the Chinese, …..the wealthy doing quite well ; while you are in debt them , pay their salary and their bonuses , pay taxes at a rate 10 times high than corporations….while we fight inflation and are told not to turn our heat on this year….watching the Chinese to send war supplies to Russia while the working man pays for everything and suffers the most !
Enclosure act 1604 started all of this.

    11. For goodness sake! The energy companies aren't failing because of the war in Ukraine. They're failing because of the price capping by the governments in Europe. If it weren't for this dreadful (moronic) interference, the energy companies would be fine, and the consumers would be no worse off in the long run.
Of course, this interference leading to nationalisation may be all part of a plan, as perhaps outlined by the WEF, for the government to take over everything.

    12. Any person thinking that there was EU dependency on Russian gas is deluded!!! Russia was only providing 30-40% of total gas to EU and it was selling it at cheaper price €400 per 1000 cubic meters on long term contracts! But EU idiots decided to stop long term contracts and buy gas on markets based on SPOT prices!!! And thats what spiked prices up in a first place but now EU is in deep shit!!! Because fuckin usa will never sell its gas on discounted rates to EU and EU idiots acting in the interest of usa and not in their own interests! Nord stream pipelines are now gone so this year they managed to buy enough Russian gas lets see where are they going to buy next year!!! Idiots have no other alternatives that would replace those 30-40% of gas that Russia use to deliver through Ukraine and nord stream pipeline… So if anyone thinks that problems are over and that EU no longer needs Russian gas is a complete idiot! EU will be buying Russian gas just like before but through a third party country just gonna pay more 😅 But propaganda will say that its not Russian gas and all idiots will listen and believe that bullshit!!! EU has killed its economies and abandoned its own citizens to serve american rhetoric and allowing them to get full control over EU’s energy security by not leaving them any alternative but a much greater dependence on usa!!! And usa will never sell anything to EU on cheaper or discounted rates like Russia use to do!!! So EU needs to wake up and get diplomatic and economic relationships with Russia back to normal and ditch fuckin americans!!!

    13. It's hard to believe you don't know which way imports and exports flow. Russia never IMported gas through Nord Stream, it EXported gas to Germany.

    14. Less Carbon monoxide and less sulfur pollutants. Unfortunately CO2 production is the same. Tonne for tonne methane (natural fas) is better because you don't have to burn the impurities, and turbines can be designed to extract the maximum efficiencies, I.e not via production of steam as in a coal fired generation plant), instead, directly injecting methane into a gas turbine (cf a jet engine).
More electricity produced by gas means more CO2.

    15. Thanks for this splendid explanation. World energy markets will find a new equilibrium, as you can see happening with steel prices already. It will all settle down in 2023 at inflation adjusted levels.

    16. Very useful informations, Thank you Joe. Not only the outlook about the mild winter 😊, especially the good explanation about the bounding of prices and demand and hedging, was very interesting, ty

    17. Excellent analysis! Could it be that global warming could reduce the amount of gas and coal required and therefore a reduction in CO2 would eventually create a equilibrium without the need for Net Zero nonsense?

    18. Good report but when Russia sends / sells gas to another country Russia is exporting the gas not importing . Well that's how I was taught at school .

    19. What is the % of gas used by Industry vs Consumers. For comparson, the water shortage in California is an industrial agricultural shortage; Consumers only use between 4 to 5% of all water used. A major reduction in Consumer water consumption will only impact total water used by 1% absolute, basically meaningless to the problem. EU industrial consumption may dwarf consumer consumption.

    20. I read in the news about the biggest chemical plant in Germany scaling down or closing. May be Germany hasn’t heard the good news from your channel.

    21. I haven't turned on my heating yet because the temperature inside still hasn't gone under 18C. Having said that, I'm going to reduce my energy use this winter to a minimum, no matter what. If my energy saving is helping the fight against Russia in any way at all, I'm willing to deal with a colder house. The people of Ukraine will be freezing in the battlefields, trenches and defense positions all winter, a lower heat setting on the thermostat is not even a mild discomfort in comparison to that.

    22. I live in southern Australia and what I don't understand is why the cost of gas for domestic purposes such as heating, cooking etc went up in my state by more than 400% in 2017 yet we supposedly have the largest LNG export capacity as a country and the gas is sold of overseas at a far reduced cost than what domestic consumers pay. Obviously there's the issue of the quanities being exported are far larger than what a domestic household uses so it makes sense that it would be cheaper to buy in bulk but why did the price go up so much for domestic consumption in such a short time.

    23. You sound like a smart guy. But to me it looks like Europe is taking a major hit from companies being rescued and on capped limits, this people are going to be squeezed not only from gas but over all inflation that most people wont be able to prepare for hard times. If Europe could get a better deal from anywhere else they would natural gas will stay very expensive in Europe and shiping lng is very expensive.

    24. Meanwhile, Lebanon and Israel signed papers today and by next winter may be ready to supply a good portion of Europe's Natural Gas requirements.

    25. ok on LNG you do have to realise not every country requires a regasification plant, you only need one or two at a major port and have a tie back to the existing gas network – it is more around getting the LNG to port hubs in the first instance, most LNG was sold on term contracts (normally around 15 to 20 years) so the spot market was small, now that the spot market has expanded the trading in LNG now faces a pinch point from a shipping perspective – LNG tankers are highly specialised vessels and there is a shortage of them to cover the term and now spot contracts.
