European Union energy ministers are about to discuss energy prices today. The contentious issue at the center of these negotiations is a wholesale price cap on gas. The European Commission has proposed capping the gas price if it hits 275 euros per megawatt hour for two consecutive weeks and if the difference between that and the world price of liquified natural gas is equal to or greater than 58 euros. The measure is aimed at protecting consumers from wildly fluctuating gas prices.

    1. A red communist Europe 😂😂🤷???
      That's something new 🤷😁
And who pays the difference 🤔????
Or as always "let's print more money out of the thin air" ?????

    2. Hmm, i thought u guys loved free market economy and strongly "advocate" it (on gunpoint) to the rest of the world?🤔

Its funny that the west would immediately ditch the "free market" economy as soon as it no longer serve their interest😛. RIP to all the "evil regime" that the west have overthrown for refusing globalization and free market (a.k.a being exploited), they were correct all this time and their blood along with all their civilian were spilled unjustly just to satisfy western capitalist unsatiable greed and may justice be served on this world🙏

    3. Easy way to solve this is drop the sanctions on Russia it's so simple how can the EU not see this who else is going to be able to supply gas to the EU any cheaper?

    4. The most Important thing that should be on everyone's mind currently should be to invest in different source of income that doesn't depend on government. Especially with the current economic crisis around the world.

    5. This is only temporary. Germany became independent of Russian gas in August and now buys their gas from the Netherlands, Belgium, Norway and France. LNG tanks are full to cover winter and more offshore terminals are being built at record pace. So even though the gas prices will go up next year, they will begin to fall after that. I have no issues with that. Anything to see Russia completely destroyed economically so that they never rise up again to threaten the world.

    6. Nice tactic EU leaders!!! Let's all follow the same and go to our grocery store and super market and put price caps on all essential items!!!! Like to put price caps to some luxury items too, iPhone, BMW , Merc etc etc????

    7. 🥸Russia sponsor of terrorism and giving them Oil price cap at 65/70$ to continue war is absolutely mad!
Ronald Reigen put on USSR $10 – USSR collapsed

    8. I think the chance that gas will hit over EUR275,00/mWh is small. Current level is much lower, the risk is low for this year. 2023 will be very different since we cannot fill our reserves massively from Russian gas like we did from Mar-Aug 2022, this means Europe will run into trouble.
Particularly some radical EU politicians forbids EU members to buy gas or any energy products from NON pure democracy states (such as Qatar, Saudi, Iran, Russian, Venezuela, etc) . This excludes pretty much all possible supplies.
In general, the situation will force EU consumers to change their lifestyle radically, much greener (for the lefties) and much poorer (for normal humans). The main significance is the current and future condition will wipe out pretty much all industries in Europe (I could hardly imaging any production industry can survive/accept EUR150,00-EUR200,00/mWh price).
The real hard ball will be in 2023 – 2033.

    9. DUMBEST IDEA EVER….. destroy gas supplier businesses.. will end up gas shortage again…. TERRIBLE IDEA… one has to ask why this lesson was not learnt in the 70's and 80's…

    10. Another text that illustrates Germany's power of obstruction. This text had the objective that this year's crisis does not repeat itself and the result is… a text that would have been inactive under the conditions of this summer. The faculty of Germany bought the gas more expensive than the poorest European states is protected: how do you say "ashamed of nothing" in German?
