In this video, I discuss how Ethereum continues to betray cypherpunk ideals around freedom and privacy, including the latest ConsenSys policy change that now allows Infura nodes to log users’ IP addresses and connect them with Ethereum addresses whenever they make a transaction using Metamask.

In addition, Ethereum validators continue to actively enforce US government OFAC censorship with 75-80% of blocks.

This is what happens when running your own node is not part of your crypto’s culture– you end up outsourcing all privacy to large corporations like ConsenSys.

The dumpster fire that is Ethereum continues to burn brighter and brighter.

  1. WARNING: There are a number of scammers who are using my image and
channel name to try to connect with my viewers on WhatsApp and other
platforms to scam them. Just so you know, I will never refer you to
"my personal trader" or try to connect with you personally to sell you
something. I am trying to ban these scammers as quickly as they pop up. You can
always recognize a scammer by clicking on the image and seeing how
many videos he has. All of these guys have zero videos, while I have
hundreds. I also now have a checkmark next to my name, so that you can distinguish the real Trader University from the imposters.

  2. Next video idea: apparently Ledger is going public and issuing an IPO. They have posted how much value their devices hold globally. The only way they could know, is if they have secretly held the XPUB address for all their devices. They have been secretly spying on their users this whole time!

  3. Are we certain that all those OFAC censored blocks are ones that contain recommended censoring? in other words, is it possible that many of most of these blocks would be the same whether censorship was followed or not (because there was nothing to censor)?

  4. IMO Gensler is the biggest theif out there. Seriously what has this Head of the SEC done ….. absolutely nothing…but show boat the SEC case against Ripple….and the morons cant even get that right. "Protect the retail investor" all lies. Gensler has had what….two ….three yrs now?…..useless as tits on a bull. At best it utter incompetence……at worst…he's corrupt as the rest of the low lying scum.

  5. This sort of news makes me appreciate Cardano more and more. Can anyone illuminate how Cardano stacks up against Ethereum in terms of ethics? IS Cardano superior, is it all just a pretense?

  6. Matt I see what you are saying and agree ETH is completely captured and also that crypto is completely dirty. My question is, why would the government want all of this control and oversight if crypto is about to die? You've successfully saved me thousands of dollars and I'm now bitcoin only in large part thanks to you, but I find myself wondering what the future of crypto is. It seems like it's circling the drain fast, but the cynic in me wonders if there will indeed be a strong recovery, if not only for nefarious actors to make even more money off retail in a couple of years. It seems like alot of time, money, and effort of all these super rich people/ government officials/ etc for something that's about to completely die.

  7. Vitalik's mountain man fantasy tweet is particularly interesting seeing the "Run a node" page on ethereum website says this "Who should run a node? Everyone! Nodes are not just for proof-of-stake validators. Anyone can run a nodeβ€”you don't even need ETH… there are many other benefits of running a node for any Ethereum user to consider, including privacy, security, reduced reliance on third-party servers, censorship resistance and improved health and decentralization of the network. Having your own node means you don't need to trust information about the state of the network provided by a third party."

  8. The government might be trying to put Eth in position so they can tout it as the place to go instead of BTC. In such a case we will soon see a media blitz about the virtues of Eth.

  9. Believe it or not… β€œEtherians” are proud of themselves… Raul Pal actually loves the idea of Social Credit scores and Slave coin tech like CBDCs which the Etherium community is thirsty for.

  10. Whatever big idea Ethereum once represented, it's finished. It's actually kinda sad, but I'm happy I'm not caught in the Eth trap.

  11. Thank you Matt for this. You keep wowing me, this time even helping us who have ETH bags despite all your prior warningsβ€”truly an act of kindness through your education. Tis the season πŸ™.

I’m constantly sharing your channel, you’re the best source of up to date and cutting edge everything economics, finance, and β€œweb3”
