    Russia’s war in Ukraine did have a winner this year – American oil and gas companies. These giants amassed billions of dollars thanks to global supply chain disruptions and soaring prices. It was obvious that governments wouldn’t let this party on for long, without getting a share for itself. With this intention, the European Union began taxing energy companies on the profits they made. And now, the bloc is facing the ire of one such US-based company which has sued them for these new taxes. Washington’s presence has just heightened the possibility of the much-discussed EU-US trade war.

      Us forced the energy embargo, the Russians are willing to sell energy, but eu doesn't want to pay. US is war profiteering as they always have, since way back. EU, settle with Russia to eliminate the energy stranglehold the US companies have.

      As a European, I can say – well deserved! I hope this crisis gets even deeper so that the ones who support Ursula and current EU policies, will finally see how bad they are and start a revolt against them. We had it good here before they decided to make Russia our enemy, even though Russia has always treated us far more fair than we treated Russia.

      Companies are in business to make money- they are not charities. We the US are not going to make bad decisions for our country or companies because Europe does! We are not in their position now because we have not made bad decisions in the past. USA has been bending over backwards to help Europe with their energy problems. Europe’ s bad decisions of relying one supplier is their problem. No company or country should do that.
